Church's Role In Daily Life Decreasing

The Church's role in daily life has decreased a lot since the Middle Ages. People are not following the Catholic Church's rules. This started during the Middle Ages. Monks and bishops started becoming vassals, and worked for lords. The monks started breaking their vows of poverty, and became involved in wealth. Today, Catholics use birth control and abortion, which they are not supposed to. Also, the number of clergy is decreasing. There are fewer and fewer people who want to be nuns and priests. The lay people are participating in the Church administration more because of that. The Church is weakening, but at the same time, it is getting larger. The Church used to only be in Europe, but it is all over the world now. Religion in daily life has changed between the Middle Ages and today, and is no longer a dominant part of life.
